Name;;
Regulus Arcturus Black
Age/Year;;
Sixteen. Sixth Year.
House;;
Slytherin
Personality;;
Regulus is spoiled. He is and has everything that you want and everything that you will never have. The only way to get on his level is if you are already there, and he's not going to bow down to anyone.
Part of the Slytherin boy's flair is probably his charisma. He has the ability to talk his way out of anything... which often comes in handy when he fights. Regulus is a bit rash and sometimes jumps into something without thinking it through. Consequentially, he ends up in a lot of rather rough fights - both physical and magical. The good thing is that he hardly ever gets caught, and when he does he always manages to beg Slughorn not to punish him. He's good like that.
Another thing about Regulus, something that he chooses to hide, is that he's a coward. It's not that he chose to be afraid of everything, he just is. He doesn't often stand up for himself or what he believes in unless it's someone unimportant like a blood-traitor or a muggle-born. In Regulus' life, the people whom he hates most are the people that he cannot ever show his true feelings to.
Despite all this, Regulus has always had good intentions. If he had been born in any other situation, he might have been on the other side. However, with his parents and entire family pushing him one way, he felt as if all he could do was go in that direction. Now that he sees the other side and what it stands for, he knows that he could have made another choice. But, now, things are going to stay the way they are. Regulus is too prideful a person to stoop lower than he already is. He knows his pride would be wounded terribly, not to mention the other things that he would have to sacrifice, were he to turn his back on the way he now lives his life. He can't afford to do that.
Now, even though it may not seem like it, Regulus has always been an ambitious individual. When he was young, he had so many dreams for his future. Of course, none of them are possible now, but he still dreams. Sometimes of getting away. Sometimes of conquering everything and just being who he wants to be. And, even though none of these futures are possible, he still lets himself hope from time to time.
Regulus is determined, as well, in a way. He's determined to get what he wants, though that rarely ever happens. He's determined to forget everything that is hurting him right now. He's determined not to let anyone see how he really feels. Maybe determination isn't his strongest trait, but it's there to stay, in the midst of his fears and arrogance.
Another thing that few people would call Regulus is intelligent. Maybe it's his disinterest for classes skipping and not doing homework whenever he doesn't feel like putting the effort forward. But, he would surprise you in this place. Nobody seems to realize that he doesn't get held back because, eventually, he does something to catch himself up again. The teachers always wonder, each year, if he'll make it. And he always does.
He's also a very critical person. He is quick with words, able to insult anyone enough to nearly cripple them for a moment. He sees faults in everyone, and doesn't hesitate to point them out should he need to. Also, though, he is his own biggest critic. Even if it's something only he notices, he's constantly trying to fix his flaws. It's not that he wants to be perfect. He just wants to appear that way. And then nobody will be able to say anything against him.
Towards his "friends", Regulus is sarcastic and callous. He always smiles and laughs, though he's unable to make the humor reach his eyes when it's not really there. He isn't sure if they can see through his facade, but he doesn't really care as long as they act the same way... like he's really one of them. It's quite obvious that he doesn't trust anyone, however. He never confides in anyone or shows weakness.
He wants to be a loyal person, but something like this is difficult for Regulus. If he can't even stand up for himself, how would he stand up for others? He is pretty good at pretending he is, however, and will sometimes do things to prove his loyalty... if such niceties will change things to his advantage.
Towards his family, Regulus is the perfect example of everything you should be. A good, Slytherin boy. Only sixteen, and already he is working his way into the Dark Lord's circle. It won't be long before his left arm is tattooed and he's doing the Lord's bidding. You should be just like him when you grow up. If only.
Now, girls are a completely different thing. Regulus likes girls. Not just physically, either, but we'll get to that part later. It's not uncommon to see him with three or more at a time, not minding group dates for it's just more attention. He often sneaks out in the middle of the night and rarely brings girls to his dorm... instead choosing to go to their dormitory. Now, of course, he doesn't date -- if that's what you want to call what he does -- outside of his house. It would be terrible for his reputation. It's hard to restrict yourself to one fourth of the school, though, when you change girls at least every week. Still, he manages. He doesn't mind having the same one twice and how could they reject the honor of being with THE Regulus Arcturus Black?
Love is a totally different manner. To say that Regulus doesn't believe in it would be quite a lie. However, he refuses to show any affection for anyone. Not like that. He's never uttered the words 'I love you', and he doesn't plan to. At least not where anyone but the single person he's saying to will hear. He's a bit of a hopeless romantic, in that way. Although it scares him that it might not really be that way, he thinks that somewhere out there, everybody has a soul mate. But just one. And until he finds that one, if he ever does, he's not going to change how he is. And he's definitely not going to show his 'soft side' any sooner than that.
And that's just how Regulus is. And he hates it.

Appearance;;
Regulus is sex on toast, as he would say. Years of playing his favorite position on the Quidditch Team, beater, has built up his arms. He has rather fearsome muscles throughout his body, loving the way that just his size intimidates people. He's not very short, being 5'9", but is rather bulky.
His hair is a dark chestnut color, bronze highlights only showing in the light. For years, it was long and rather unkempt but he has cropped it rather short lately and styled it in a messy, un-caring look. His eyebrows are rather bushy, but it looks good on him. His face is rather long, his features sharp and defined.
Regulus' clothing style is rather simple, usually robes or school uniform. If he ever does wear 'muggle clothing', it's just jeans and a tee shirt, usually in Slytherin colors. But, whatever it is, it's always of the finest quality. The Black family's money might be running out, but Regulus won't wear anything less.

History;;
Regulus has always been the perfect child. Even when he was just a boy and his elder brother was rejecting everything and anything that his parents gave him, he was accepting it. He was the easier child to raise by far, and grew into his brother's shadow with ease.
It was unrealisitc for his parents, Walburga and Orion Black, to have two perfect sons. Although most of the other family members held the proper ideals, Sirius didn't. He never did. At first, his parents hadn't hated them. They had just been disappointed in what their son stood for, maybe just the fact that he could escape the family and they hadn't been strong enough to. This was something that Regulus easily took advantage of.
He quietly did whatever his parents told him to, agreeing whenever needed and therefore gained their favor simply by being unable to stand against them. He found himself morphed into what they thought was the perfect child. When he finally realized that he didn't even know if that was what he wanted, he was in too deep. Once you were a part of the Blacks, you couldn't ever escape. He learned that the hard way.
Leaving his family for Hogwarts that first year, he felt more trapped than ever. He knew that they had people at the school, people who would not hesitate to inform his parents of his bad deeds. He pretended to be happy to be sorted into Slytherin, even though he had to beg the hat not to put him anywhere else. And he learned, Slytherin was probably the best house for him.
It wasn't long before he fell into step with the rest of the Slytherins. Whenever he encountered his brother and his group, he treated them just as nastily as any other Slytherin would have. There was a time when he desperately wanted to apologise, but this quickly was muffled by his pride. He wouldn't give in to him. When the other Slytherins were hexing Gryffindors or teasing helpless students, he joined in. At first, just because that's what everyone else was doing. And then he started to revel in the power. He couldn't get enough of that feeling, the feeling where you were so much better than everyone else and nobody could stop you.
It was only natural for him to join Voldemort's followers when the time came around. He knew that his parents were both in deep, along with most of his housemates and certainly all but a few traitors in his family. He couldn't refuse. But that was before he realized how terrible it really was.
He went to his first Death Eater meeting with high hopes. He knew that the Dark Lord was powerful, more powerful than any other wizard. But he hadn't thought that he would use this power against his own followers. For some reason, the thought had never occured to him.
The boy was surprised, in the least, when at the first meeting the Dark Lord tortured one of his own people to death for giving him the wrong information on accident. They had been the one who was tricked, but they still got blamed for it. Regulus never forgot the look on the man's face as he writhed in sheer agony.
And then, he realized what he had done. He didn't want this. But, like the Black family, there was no escape. In fact, this invisible contract was more binding than the other. All that would have happened had he run away like Sirius did was that he would have been burned out of the family tree. If he turned his back on Voldemort, he'd be that man.
The boy started to regret his entire life up to this point, but there was nothing he could do. There was nobody to turn to, the only people he was even close to were Death Eaters and muggle-haters. He didn't have any real friends to run to, should he decide to run.
Somehow, he has evaded getting the Dark Mark up to this point. But it's only a matter of time. Even Hogwarts isn't going to hide him for long enough. Not having anyone to talk to, Regulus began to go out with even more girls... using them as an outlet for his frustration and fears. Not that he told them anything, but it helped him. He felt like he did have someone close... someone who cared.
And so the coward did what all cowards do. Nothing.
