Greta Katherine Catchlove
Age/Year;;
Fifteen; Fifth Year
House;;
Hufflepuff
Appearance;;
Greta took after her mother in the aspect of her size. Whereas her father is a rather big man in height at least, she's a petite young woman who is more likely to hurt herself than someone else. It's strange that usually taller people are awkward, but not Greta. Her accident-prone status is something that she's rather infamous for, much to her dismay.
Her hair is a rather mousy brown color, the occasional red highlight striking the eye. It generally lays in unruly curls that settle just past her shoulders, her curly hair something that she has grudgingly received from her mother's genes. Sometimes she bothers herself with using a straightening charm, but it never holds for long so she doesn't do so often. Her forehead is a bit larger than would be attractive but she parts her hair in a way to camouflage this.
Her eyes are a compelling shade of blue, set under well-groomed eyebrows. The saying that the eyes are the window to the soul holds all-too-true for Greta, who can't hide a single thing if someone is looking her in the eye. It's like they are an open book for everyone to read... something that she detests. Her nose is rather wide but long, flaring out slightly more than it should at the nostrils. Her lips are pouty, the lower one being larger than the upper one.
Her shoulders are narrow, her limbs long and slender. Her legs are longer than you would guess for her height, being only five feet even, just a bit shorter than her sister. She's mostly what one would call 'fit', though of little effort on her part. She has the type of body where she can eat nearly whatever she'd like and not gain very much weight at all. However, she still often goes for runs when she has the time.
As for her style outside of uniforms -- which she actually likes, by the way -- she is a different breed. While most people are into casual clothing and dark, brooding colors, Greta enjoys wearing bright sun dresses that contrast her fair skin and brilliantly-colored shirts with jeans. She is a bit sensitive to cold weather and often brings a jacket or shrug with her, though she doesn't like wearing them.
She's a huge fan of accessories, always having a necklace or bracelet that matches her earrings. She also has multiple purses and bags that she carries around to match whatever she's wearing, be it uniform or not.

Personality;;
Greta is a bit of a snob gone wrong. Not that she comes off as a snob at all, but that's the problem. She thinks of herself as being different from everyone else, and therefore is decidedly so. But, somehow, she fits in that way.
To people who are meeting her for the first time, her cool facade and sarcastic or even cynical comments come off as hilarious at best. Such mannerisms paired with her inability to take more than three steps without tripping and making a fool of herself helps her gain more enemies than friends. This matter is much to her chagrin and only increasingly so with each new meeting.
Despite the fact that Greta's mother couldn't care less about her, she's a rather happy person. It's something that is nearly always on her mind, but she often pretends like it doesn't bother her. Very rarely, she falls into depression about the whole thing and won't talk to anyone. She's closest to her father and sister, even more so than her friends she would say. Although she doesn't see either of them as often as she'd like and she spends so much time with her peers, she doesn't feel as comfortable confiding in them as she does her sister. Her father has always been like a safe-haven for her, so she finds herself unable to feel safe around any other male.
Greta is always trying to be funny without seeming like she's trying. It works, only it's more like the awkward, clumsy humor than the cool, dead-pan that she strives for. She's afraid of many things including, but not limited to, the dark, spiders, dogs, horses, fish, being alone, and feather pillows. She has a particular reason for each of these, usually just that they look menacing enough to be afraid of.
For someone who is so concentrated on appearing rude and stand-offish, she is rather opposed to confrontation. Only when someone is mercilessly teasing a close friend of hers will she get up enough gall to tell them to sod off. Even then, she usually isn't convincing enough for them to do so until she kicks them in the shins or does some other form of physical damage. She doesn't believe that magic should be used like that. However, if someone is bothering her, she usually just ignores them and pretends like it isn't bothering her... even though, more often than not, it really is.
She is more into hiding her feelings than telling people what's really on her mind. So, if she has a problem or a crush or something, chances are that it will be nearly gone before anyone finds out, including her sister. She would rather write down what she has to say than actually say it. She tends to get confused with what she is saying, her words and mouth missing each other somewhere in the middle and her thoughts jumble up with them until she has no idea what she's saying. Sometimes it's a problem because her friends feel like she doesn't trust them. And if she doesn't trust them, why should they trust her?
Greta is rather self-conscious when it comes to things she says and does, especially when it's around someone physically attractive or just someone who has been labeled as 'cool'. She's always trying to appear as a completely different person than plain and boring Camille. She wants to be better than that but oftentimes just pronounces herself more.
She's fairly outgoing for someone who is so uncomfortable in her own skin, depending on who she is talking to. If it's a girl, she can easily talk to them. But if it's a guy, especially if he's gorgeous, she sometimes gets confused with what she is trying to say and just ends up standing there quietly. She is a generally quiet person, preferring to read a book in the common room over going out and doing anything interesting. She usually is pretty mellow over-all, unless she's nervous or excited. She tends not to talk at all when she's nervous, only seeming really jittery and hyper. If she's excited, it's generally the opposite. She talks a lot but sits there calmly, seeming like she's on a timer and at any second is going to start bouncing off the walls.
She loves Quidditch, knowing all the stats by heart. She constantly knows who is winning and who isn't, and goes to as many games as possible during the breaks from school. She attends every school game and always cheers for whatever team she happens to be supporting. She's generally a Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff kind of girl, but occasionally the Gryffindor team is good enough for a few words of praise. She's very loyal to her own house and Hufflepuff as well, as most people are more caught up in Gryffindor and Slytherin than the other two.
All in all, Greta is a rather complex girl who tries to hard in everything she does and still the outcome is the same. She's intentionally unfriendly to the point where she comes off as friendly, doesn't stand up for herself or what she believes in, and often can be found ranting about how truly awful the Tutshill Tornadoes are, despite how many times they have won in the past.
And she isn't about to change.

And she isn't about to change.
History;;
Greta was born to a mother who did not want her. This simple and all-too-true sentence would strike sympathy in anyone's heart. And, still, she doesn't focus on that. She's not wanted by her mother, but it's painfully obvious that she's wanted by her sister and father. And that's all that she really needs. At times, she gets upset about her mother's lack of love, but she pushes things like that away.
Growing up, she was always trying to impress her mother. She tried harder in everything, hoping that if she excelled even her sister her mother would notice her and love her. She threw herself into her studies, becoming better at spells and getting the highest marks in all of her work, but it didn't change anything. It wasn't uncommon to hear the young Greta screaming "Look mommy!", but to no avail. Her mother never noticed her, aside from the occasional disgust at seeing her nearby and then making the effort to yell for Peter to satisfy whatever it was that she wanted.
Despite all this, the early years of her life were pretty content in the least. Her father was tender and loving enough for both him and her mother, doing everything he could to make sure that both Phoebe and his own daughter had whatever they wanted. They weren't spoiled, more smothered than anything else. But Greta loved it. Whatever attention she could get, she ate it up... no matter who it was from.
Her insecurities and fears all branch from her early ones. She doesn't know when to stand up for herself or others, because she isn't ever sure if she deserves what they are giving her. She never knew why her mother didn't love her, only thinking that she wasn't good enough. That she did something wrong and this was her punishment. She is afraid of nearly everything, but most of all being left alone and unnoticed. Her fear of most animals are simply from stories she's heard or just branching from the fact that they appear scary.
She isn't able to open up to people because she fears that they aren't really listening. Her mother never did, why should they? She doesn't know how to say what she feels because, why bother? They probably don't care, anyway. She constantly feels like she's a burden to everyone around her and does her best to remain independent of it all. Pushing new people away instead of trying to make friends with them is something that she started doing before she even knew why. Now, when she is getting closer to new people every day, she fears that it's just one more person who is going to turn their back on her in the end.
Greta has grown into a young woman who, still, is trying her best to make an impression. To stand out and show people that she's there. In everything that she does, she's asking herself if this is something that someone will notice. Often she wonders if it's something her Mother will notice, but she never voices these things aloud. Because she doesn't believe that she will. More than anything, Greta just wants someone to care. She has her father and her sister, but it's their job to care. If they didn't, nobody would. She feels like it's almost an obligation for them...
She needs someone to tell her that they do care. And not because they have to, just because they can and want to.
