It was around lunch time and while all the other students were heading over to the great hall for lunch Severus on the other hand had decided to apperate from the castle's front gates over to Flourish and Blotts. Ever since Severus had insulted Lily he had been hanging out with his slytherin friends more and reading more about the dark lord.
Finally reaching his desertion Severus opened the door to the book store and walked in. Without gazing at anyone around him he quickly made his way over to the potions section. Grabbing a couple of books off the shelves he then began to read them. Closing the book he was reading he gazed around close to him and snorted at the sight of a mudblood. They were a disgrace to the wizarding world right now.

Lily sighed as she walked through Diagon Alley. She had been shopping almost all morning, just to get away from everyone. The word still stung her heart as she thought about it in her head. Mudblood. He had called her. She could still barely believe that Severus had said that to her. All she wanted to do is shove her nose in a book and keep reading, and maybe she could find some answer in a Snape Galore book. She sighed, knowing there was no such book. Even if she wished there were, there wasn't. But, Lily did decide she would go find some book and get her mind off of Severus Snape.
She went into Flourish and Blotts and saw him. Severus was there in the same place she was. She sighed and walked past him to the section of her choosing, not even saying a word. She was so angry that he had said that, but it was more frustration and depression than anger. It hurt her so much.[/color]

Glancing away from the mudblood Severus was just about to go back to his reading when he saw Lily walk past him without even her looking at him. Glancing back down at his book he couldn't keep his eyes off her. Sighing Severus closed the book as he glanced around the shop trying to pretend that the mudblood Lily Evans wasn't near him.
He couldn't take this anymore. Moving over to a different section farther from her he mubbled mudblood before he left. "How can she like that pothead" Severus asked himself. "I was the one that told Lily she was a witch not James" Severus said to himself again.

As Lily turned the corner, she tripped over some books left on the ground and hit her knee square on the tiled floor. She screamed as she crawled over against the wall and held her hands pressed against her knee. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she cried harder, rocking back and forth. She cried and buried her head in her bloody knee as she continued to scream. Her knee-bone was visible now through the skin.
She sniffled and sobbed as she screamed for help. The person working there had an Ipod in their ears, blasting, which gave her the hint that he was muggle-born. She screamed as she tried to grab onto a shelf and pick herself up, but she couldn't reach. She continued to scream as she held her hands against her knee with more pressure, wishing someone would help her.[/color]

Hearing screaming and crying Severus peeked around the corner. Gazing around he couldn't see anyone. Going back to his reading he heard someone screaming out for help. Glancing back around the corner he gazed down at the floor as he saw Lily on the floor injured.
Smirking he let out a small chuckle but, soon stopped as his mind drifted off to the times they had together before Potter came in the picture. Kneeling down in frotn of her Severus held out his hand for her to grab. "It's okay muggle-born" Severus finally said. Sure they weren't friends anymore but, he wasn't going to leave Lily injured here James would surely embaress him more if he did.

She looked to a hand through watery eyes and looked up. It was...Severus. She cried harder and shook her head. "You don't want to give me help, so why are you pretending to be nice..." she said as she stood up and limped about two feet before falling on her face and crying harder. Severus had hurt her very badly. How could he call her a mudblood? That was one thing you could do to Lily and make her cry.
She was now crying harder because she knew she had lost a friend, and she wasn't even sure if they had been friends in the beginning. He had helped her realize she was a witch, and they stuck by each other through a lot of things. She had even had a crush on him for Merlin's sake! But now it was like he would do anything just to treat her like filth and if that's the way he was going to act then obviously, even in this situation, she would have to find a way out herself.[/color]

"Pretending" Severus asked in shock. Shaking his head as he watched Lily fall again he walked over to her and put his arms around her. "Muggle-born I am sure not pretending if I was I would be talking about James now wouldn't I" he asked her softly. Deep down Severus still loved Lily.
Gazing down at her he sighed and looked away. "If you think you can get out of this yourself then go right ahead but, remember I offered to help I could easily go back to my slytherin buddies" he said with a small sneer.

Lily didn't respond, but instead, she held onto Severus as he wrapped his arms around her. She didn't know what to say, but all she could do is cry. She sighed sotly and looked up into his eyes, remembering the nice Severus that would hold her hand and tell her everything was alright. The one who would tell her that she was beautiful and that no one would be able to take her beauty away. But the thing is, he took her beauty away when he called her a mudblood.
She sighed gently and helped herself up with Severus' help, then leaned on him as tears still fell from her eyes. "Thanks Severus..." she whispered softly as she layed her head on his shoulder and bit her lip, it too beginning to bleed from her sharp teeth peircing it. She sighed gently and gulped as she looked down to her knee, bleeding horribly.[/color]

Seeing Lily lean on him brought a very small smile to his lips. It was so small that Lily couldn't even see it. Glanceing down at her knee Sev saw the blood gushing out of it. Gazing down at the sleeve of his slytherin robe that Lily wasn't clinging on to he ripped it off then tied it tightly around her knee but, not tightly enough to hurt her.
"That should hold until we get to Mungo's whatever you do don't tell Potter and his gang about this they may just think I'm a big softy" Sev responded. "I'm goiing to apperate us there just hold on to me I promise everything will be alright" he responded as he whipped away a couple of her tears with his thumb.

Lily looked down as she watched him tie part of his robe on around her knee. She smiled gently and then leaned against him once more as he brought himself back up and put his arm around her once more. She sighed, knowing that Severus really was a nice person. He just worried so much about being cool and acting like he was one of the bad and dark Slytherins that he had lost himself as a friend.
Lily listened to his words and smiled as she wrapped her arms around his waist tightly, knowing he was going to apparate. She knew how to apparate, but it made her dizzy doing so. She sighed as he wiped away her tears with his thumb, and then nodded up at him as he said it'd be alright. She smiled and buried her head back into his shoulder as she prepared to go to St. Mungo's.[/color]

Looking down at her he then pictured Mungo's in his mind. "Get ready" he said softly. With a loud pop the both of them were on there way over to Mungo's to get Lily some help.
