Lucius sighed gently as he got up from his bunk in the boy's dorm and crept to the main room. He tied his silk, black robe with the Slytherin crest in the corner and then laid down on the couch. The couch lay just mere feet from the fire and he could feel the warmth of it beam against his pale face. He smiled softly as he thought about Narcissa. She was probably sleeping sweetly in her bed. Maybe he could sneak in there and tell her his feelings..
No. How sappy was that? Lucius didn't believe in that stuff, but he did believe that women should be treated nicely. Cause when they're treated nicely, you get treated nicely back. He smirked at the thought and sighed, staring at the fireplace. He wondered if anyone else was having trouble sleeping. But, this didn't occur to him. He just sighed as he adjusted his pajama pants that had slipped up while he laid down. When finished, he shrugged and laid his head back; closing his eyes was the best thing right now, so he closed them and thought.

Bellatrix sat awake in bed. She wasn't even in the least bit tired. Glancing to her left she saw her sister, laying there motionless. Well then... Bellatrix thought, standing up slowly. She didn't really care about any noise she made to disturb the sleeping Slytherins, actually the more noise, she thought, the better!
Bellatrix crept down the stairs, each stair creaking softly. The first thing she noticed as she entered the common room is that she wasn't the only one awake. There was a blond boy laying on the couch by the fire. She recognized the distinct face instantly, Lucius.
Tying her long black hair into a messy bun, she walked casually over to the boy, who's eyes were closed, but he clearly was awake. Bellatrix faked cough to catch the his attention, taking a seat into an armchair inches from the couch. "Lucius," Bellatrix said coldly. She didn't mind Lucius... He was actually one of the Hogwarts students she didn't mind being around.

A cough hit the ears of Lucius which let him know he was accompanied. He opened his eyes slickly and looked to the girl known as Bellatrix. She was younger than him, a fifth year. He smirked slightly and sat up a bit, looking to her with his cold, green eyes staring. She looked like her sister, almost, except she had black hair and Narcissa's was almost golden. "Bellatrix," he said coldly, his eyes still placed upon her. He cleared his throat and then sat fully up, straightening out his robe.
His eyes turned their gaze away from the young Slytherin and looked to the fireplace. The crackling of the wood was the only thing that broke the silence and tension between them in the common room. He then got bored of thinking and turned his head to look at her again. "What brings you down at this time of night?" he asked in a low tone, noting that above the fireplace there was a clock which reported a time of midnight.

Bellatrix returned his glare, her dark brown eyes meeting his green. After a few moments she rolled her eyes and look up to the clock resting on the fireplace mantle. It was later than she had thought. Well then. She sighed and sunk back into the chair, looking over at Lucius, she noticed he had broke his stare, and he was now looking blankly into the fireplace.
Yawning, she pulled her nightgown over her knees. The common room was quite chilly. Despite the fact there was a fire blazing in the fireplace. Bellatrix turned her head, and raised her eyebrows when Lucius broke the silence, listening intently to him for once.
"Couldn't sleep," she muttered, rubbing her eyes. "You?" She questioned.

Lucius sighed softly as he listened to her response. Hmm. She couldn't sleep? He wished Narcissa couldn't sleep so that she was down there with him. He could wrap his arms around her and tell her his feelings..but nooo. He smirked softly and ruffled his hair out. He shook his head for a moment then looked up at her, his eyes cold and dim. The left side of his face was dark compared to his right which was beaming from the light from the fire. He felt his warm breath go down his shirt, as he has leaning over slightly and his chin tilted down.
"Same here," he said softly. He smirked as he looked at her. "Your sister's doing....?" he asked her as he looked at her. His green eyes were dark and only white dots gleamed off them to make it appear that he even had eyes.

He responded with what Bellatrix had expected him to say. Why else would he be down in the common room this late? She nodded in acknowledgment, and stared blankly into the fire. Bella wished very much she was sound asleep, as she was starting to get tired, but she just couldn't sleep. Something was bothering her, and she wasn't quite sure what... She just shrugged it off when Lucius said something.
Bellatrix hadn't realized what he had said immediately, but after a few moments she noticed. He was asking where her sister was. Why did he care? He knew she hated her. Than again he knew they were in the same dormitory. She stared at him, with a look on her face of why-do-you care? Whatever it was she responded with, "Sleeping, where else?" She felt awkward talking about her sister, since she hardly even talked to her herself.

"Don't have to be rude," he said coldly, rising from his seat. Lucius walked around the common room to the table behind the couch to look at a picture that had been left. It was of Narcissa and himself, and she had obviously left it there that night after getting to the point of tiredness that she could barely remember they had even taken a picture. He sighed and looked at Bellatrix. "Anyways, Slytherin girls have a tendency to sneak out with the boys at night..you should know that," he said and smirked.

"I wasn't being rude," Bellatrix snapped, eying the older Slytherin boy as he got up. She kept her eyes on the spot he had last been standing before he disappeared behind her. Bella quickly glanced behind her, and Lucius was just standing there, staring happily at what looked like a picture.
"So what... doesn't mean every night," she muttered, not wanting to admit he was half right. She'd snuck out once or twice, but no more than that. Bellatrix turned her attention to the fire and stared into the blazing flames.
"What are you looking at?" She questioned him, in a calm, clear voice, her eyes still on the fire. Whatever the picture was of apparently made him happier than she had seen him in a while. How odd.

"Then we have no problems," he spoke softly. Lucius continued to look at the picture and think of Narcissa. He sighed and listened to her question. He looked at her and shook his head. "I didn't say every night did I? I only said they had a tendency to do so," he said a little sharply. Another smirk escaped those fine lips of his as his gaze returned to the picture as did memories to his mind. Narcissa really was a beautiful girl, and he couldn't get over that precious face of hers.
He listened to her next posed question and a grin appeared on his lips once more. He sighed, knowing the hopes he held in his heart were sure to be smashed into peices. Lucius went and sat down on the couch, handing her the picture which he sort of let fall from his hand. He leaned back and ran his hands through his hair backwards, letting out a deep sigh.

Bellatrix sighed, as she looked over to him. He was coming towards her, still smiling cheerfully at the picture. She stared at the back of the it, almost as if she was trying to see right through it. Honestly, she had never seen him smile for so long. He sat down, and to her surprise he reached out his hand with the picture to her. Bellatrix looked at him, surprised. She didn't think he was actually going to let her catch a glimpse of it, much less look at it. Curiously, she snapped the picture out of his fingers.
She smirked when she saw what it was of. Him and Narcissa. It wasn't too much of a shock, really. Bellatrix had kind of guessed it for awhile... The way he got around her sometimes. It was nothing out of the ordinary for a seventeen year old, but still it was different when it came to her sister and Lucius. "You and Cissy?" She asked, setting it down onto the wooden table, feet away.

Lucius smiled gently to himself as thoughts of Narcissa ran through his mind. She was so beautiful, wasn't she? He knew he probably would've sounded obsessed if he actually talked like that, but he knew he would never say these things out loud, unless they were to Narcissa herself. He sighed gently and thought about how Bellatrix would probably think he was nuts. Tons of boys wanted Narcissa, why should she give him a chance.
He sighed and listened to her. He thought at first she was dense, but he was too caught up to actually say this. "Yea..me and Cissy. I wish it could be like that forever," he said gently, looking away from her, to the fire. The fire was blazing now, which made it a bit creepy since it wasn't lit like that moments before. But Lucius didn't give it another thought after turning from the fire to her once more.

An involuntary chuckle slipped through Bellatrix's lips. Although surprisingly she knew how he felt... Well kind of. She shook her head as if shaking away the thoughts. Not knowing what to say she asked, "Why?" She knew Narcissa was one of the better looking Slytherin's out there, and of course nicer. She couldn't blame anyone. Bellatrix than added, her thoughts straight, "I meant, why do you like her so much?" It still sounded stupid, and she knew it, but it was the best she could do that late at night. Looking over at Lucius, awaiting his reply, she pulled her nightgown off from over her knees. It was finally starting to warm up.
ooc; sorry its so awful! my brains kind of...dead.
